The Co-Active Coaching ModelConsylium utilizes the Co-Active coaching model which involves the active and collaborative participation of both the coach and client. The cornerstones of the model are: |
|
[1] As the client, you are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole.
Co-Active coaching focuses on the future
and assumes that you are not broken or in need of repair. You
know how to find the way to your goal, especially with the help
of a coach. This is why coaches asks questions instead of giving
answers. This allows you to tap resources and find the answers
yourself. And in doing so, you are more apt to follow through
with action. |
|
[2] Co-active coaching addresses your whole life.
Everyday is filled with hundreds of
decisions that, regardless of how significant they may seem, contribute
or detract from making your life fulfilling. These decisions can
take you closer to or farther from balance in your life. Co-Active
coaching moves you to balance, fulfillment, and process. |
|
[3] The agenda comes from you.The relationship between you and your coach is entirely based on what you want to achieve. You set the agenda and it is the coach's job to make sure you stay on course. By “holding the client’s agenda,” co-active coaches work to articulate your dreams, focus your plans, and achieve the outcomes you desire. |
|
[4] The client-coach relationship is a designed alliance.Co-active coaches do not offer a pre-packaged coaching service. Every client-coach relationship looks different and is built to take advantage of the client's working and learning styles. Because of the alliance that forms, the client-coach relationship becomes a powerful agent for change. |
The Co-Active Coaching model was created by Laura Whitworth, Henry Kimsey-House, and Phil Sandahl.
